Terms and Conditions of Service

If you’re seeking counselling, you don’t need a GP Referral or Mental Health Care Plan. This means minimal wait times with appointments available sooner to help you access the best care when you need it most. Counselling sessions do not form a part of your My Health Records.

Booking Your Counselling Session:

To make an appointment, please send me a message, through my contact page. We will schedule a free fifteen-minute consultation via telephone or zoom.

If you choose to book a session, we will also engage in a brief intake session, where I will ask you some preliminary questions. I'll send you confirmation by email, a client intake form to fill in and a reminder 24 hours before your appointment.

Appointment Times:

Appointments are scheduled for 60, 90 or 120 minutes, please note standard practice allows the last 10 minutes of the appointment time for administration;  scheduling of follow up appointment and taking payment.

Session Attendance:

Counselling and psychotherapy are most effective when attended regularly, with time between used to integrate sessions. In your first session we will explore ways we might work together. If you choose to participate in ongoing sessions, we will book your follow up session at either weekly, fortnightly or monthly interval.

Please be punctual and allow time for the scheduled duration of your appointment.

Telehealth/ Online Counselling Psychotherapy Privacy and Confidentiality:

For confidential counselling experience, it is essential your space is private and free of potential distractions. In preparation for your appointment, I want to assure you that I will not video or audio record any part of the consultation without your prior explicit consent. By booking a telehealth appointment, I ask for your explicit agreement that you too will not video or audio record any part of the consultation.

Rescheduling Appointments:

If you need to reschedule, please give more than 48 hours notice so someone on my wait list can be offered an appointment.

Cancellations:

I understand life can be demanding, however cancellations received with less than 48 hours notice or nonattendance will be charged the full fee.

Alternative Arrangements:

If you are unable to attend your scheduled in-person counselling appointment, I can offer you a telehealth appointment via zoom or telephone. Please note, I will need to be notified at least two hours by text before your scheduled appointment to set up telehealth session for you.

Confidentiality:

All interactions that take place in the setting of counselling/ the therapeutic space are considered confidential. This includes all session content records and any progress notes that I take during your sessions.

The only instance where I may need to talk to someone outside the service is if I have concerns for your safety or someone else’s safety. When possible, I will talk with you before doing this.

Additionally, in order to ensure that I am giving the best assistance possible, there may be times when I consult with my supervisor about your case, however, no personally identifiable information will be used.

Please let me know if you have any questions related to confidentiality.

My Age Care Support at Home Packages can include counselling and psychotherapy services. Counselling is recognised as an allied health service and of therapeutic support; as such counselling can be funded through your package to meet your assessed care needs. This may include psychological counselling, stress management support, or other therapeutic activities that promote your emotional well-being.

How It Works - Your provider will assess your needs and determine if counselling services are included as part of your individual care plan. Your provider will work with you to arrange and fund these services as part of your care package.

Zero Out-of-Pocket Costs - I bill your My Age Care plan manager. There are no gap fees, upfront payments, or out-of-pocket expenses for you.

Once assessment has been made, you can book an initial call with me to discuss your care needs.

WorkSafe Victoria -

Counselling Services

Navigating a workplace injury, stress, or burnout can feel overwhelming. If you are experiencing psychological distress or a mental injury because of your work, you may be eligible for fully funded professional counselling services through WorkSafe Victoria.  As an approved WorkSafe provider, I can support you through your recovery.

How It Works - Book an appointment with your General Practitioner (GP). They will assess your mental health, issue a Certificate of Capacity, and provide a formal medical referral for initial counselling sessions. For smoother processing, please ask your GP to explicitly note my name on the referral letter.

WorkSafe Victoria provides paths to ensure you get immediate support:

  • Provisional Payments (Claim Under Review): If you have submitted a claim form for a mental injury, you are entitled to up to 13 weeks of early treatment funded by WorkSafe while the insurer determines final liability.

  • Accepted Claims: If your claim has already been approved, WorkSafe covers the reasonable costs of your ongoing sessions as part of your recovery and return-to-work goals.

Under WorkSafe guidelines, counsellors can provide an initial block of up to 12 hours or six months of treatment. Following our initial assessment, I will submit a confidential Treatment Update/Summary Report directly to your insurer to request and justify any ongoing care blocks. Your GP will also regularly review your progress.

Zero Out-of-Pocket Costs - I bill your WorkSafe agent directly. There are no gap fees, upfront payments, or out-of-pocket expenses for you - allowing you to focus entirely on your healing and recovery.

To set up your initial intake, please contact me with:

  1. Your WorkCover Claim Number

  2. Your GP Referral Letter

  3. The name of your WorkSafe Insurer Agent (e.g., EML, Allianz, Gallagher Bassett, Xchanging)
