About

Nina Isabella

I’m a holistic women’s health counsellor, somatic psychotherapist and childbirth educator with over 25 years of experience supporting women and gender-diverse people through life’s most meaningful transitions.

My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centred approach that honours the connection between mind, body and lived experience. I integrate evidence-based counselling and psychotherapy with body-aware practices such as mindfulness, breathwork and gentle somatic exploration, creating a space where you can feel safe, seen and supported.

I specialise in women’s mental health across the lifespan, including fertility challenges, pregnancy and birth preparation, postpartum support, motherhood and matrescence, menopause and midlife transitions. I also support clients navigating anxiety, grief and loss, chronic health conditions, pelvic pain, identity shifts, relationship challenges and emotional overwhelm.

I believe counselling is about walking alongside you as you reconnect with your inner wisdom, regulate your nervous system, and cultivate greater self-compassion, clarity and resilience. My role is to offer grounded, respectful support that meets you where you are, while gently supporting growth and change at your own pace.

I hold a Master of Counselling and am a registered Member of the Australian Counselling Association. I have additional training in trauma-focused acceptance and commitment therapy, perinatal mental health, somatic psychotherapy and diversity-affirming practice. My work is inclusive, culturally sensitive and aligned with feminist and trauma-aware values.

I offer counselling sessions in person in Melbourne and the Macedon Ranges, as well as online via secure telehealth, allowing flexibility and accessibility wherever you are.

If you’re considering counselling, I invite you to book a free discovery call — a gentle first step to explore whether working together feels right for you.

A Lifetime of

Lived Experience &
Professional Development

I bring both professional breadth and lived experience to my work. I know the ache of thwarted fertility, the impact of years of misdiagnosed women’s health conditions - including PCOS and endometriosis - and the realities of living with chronic pain, auto-immune conditions and inflammation. These experiences have shaped my sense of self, purpose and compassion.

I’ve been deeply supported through major life transitions, career changes and health challenges, and I’ve learned to mine the wisdom held within them. This informs how I practise today - with presence, humility and care.

My counselling approach is inclusive, trauma-informed and person-centred. I honour you as sovereign - the expert in your own life. I meet you where you are, offering empathic, wholehearted connection alongside evidence-based, culturally sensitive counselling to support you to feel at home in your body and your life.

The Womanly Counsellor

Dedicated to supporting women and gender diverse folk navigating life's transitions. From the tender days of matrescence; to and beyond the tectonic upheaval of menopause; through life-altering chronic health conditions; shifts in identity, orientation and sense of purpose and every step in between.

I acknowledge the traditional owners of this beautiful, fertile land on which I live and practice - the Wadawurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung people. I pay my respects to all first nations people and elders, both past, present and emerging. I recognise sovereignty of these lands was never ceded.
